Role Objective
The Chief Growth Officer takes responsibility for Growth, Value Creation, and Integration across the entire Certania Group.
This includes driving sales growth with our group companies, realizing operational value creation, and ensuring the successful integration of acquired companies.
The role involves close collaboration with the founders and managing directors of the portfolio companies, supporting them in professionalizing their operations and aligning them with a shared growth and performance culture.
Since many of these entrepreneurs come from technical or scientific backgrounds, the position requires the ability to lead, support, and develop entrepreneurial personalities as peers — while respecting and preserving their independence.
This role combines strategic foresight with clear operational accountability and offers the perspective of future line responsibility at the top level within the Certania Group. It may also include taking on interim management roles within portfolio companies to directly lead transformation or integration processes.

Your mission
1. Sales Growth
- Drive sales initiatives with the Certania portfolio companies, including lead generation and sales campaigns.
- Develop sales systems and structures.
- Improve pipeline visibility and data transparency to build asset value.
- Establish and manage sales controlling.
2. Value Creation & Transformation
- Develop and implement a systematic value creation framework with levers in pricing, sales, cost management, digitalization, and operational excellence.
- Work directly with portfolio company management teams to plan, execute, and monitor specific performance initiatives.
- Lead and support turnaround and restructuring efforts in close cooperation with local entrepreneurs.
- Take co-responsibility for tangible results – focus on measurable outcomes, not concepts.
- Act as sparring partner and coach for founders and technical managing directors on strategic, organizational, and financial topics.
3. Integration Management
- Oversee post-merger integration (PMI) of new acquisitions across organization, governance, systems, and culture.
- Develop a scalable integration playbook for future acquisitions.
- Ensure the timely onboarding of new entities into the Certania structure and the realization of planned synergies.
- Temporarily assume interim management roles in newly acquired or restructuring companies when direct operational leadership is required.
4. Platform & Synergy Development
- Identify and realize group-wide synergies (e.g., procurement, IT, shared services, talent, sales).
- Build cross-functional networks, promote knowledge sharing among portfolio.
- Support the CEO in building a scalable European organizational structure.
5. Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Conceptualize and prepare high-quality management and investor presentations (e.g., for the advisory board, shareholders, banks, and potential acquisitions).
- Ensure precise, data-driven, and visually professional implementation in PowerPoint — on par with top-tier consulting standards.
- Coordinate closely with the CEO, Finance, and Corporate Development teams in communicating key value creation and integration progress.
6. Inhouse Consulting (Setup & Philosophy)
- Build a small, high-impact inhouse consulting team as an operational implementation unit for performance programs.
- Clearly differentiate from traditional consulting models: focus on operational proximity, shared responsibility, and direct execution with management teams.
7. Governance & Reporting
- Define and implement key value creation KPIs and reporting structures.
- Provide regular reporting to the CEO, advisory board, and investors on progress, results, and identified opportunities.
- Ensure transparency, traceability, and lasting impact.
